He is an economics graduate from the University of Malaya. He also holds a diploma in Economic Development from Oxford University and a masters degree in economics from Vandebilt University, Tennessee, USA. He retired from the civil service in 1994 as Secretary General, Ministry of Finance, and was the first Managing Director of sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Berhad. He is active in G25 and oftenwrites to the media on matters of public interest.

She has had a long and distinguished career in the public service as a judge, legal adviser and diplomat. She was the Ambassador of Malaysia to Netherlands and was the Malaysian Permanent Representative to the Organizationfor the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. She held the position of Director-General of Research, Treaties and International Law at the Foreign Ministry. She was appointed as a member of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees advisory group on the 1951 Convention relating to the status of refugees and the 1961 Convention on reducing statelessness. Since her retirement from the Foreign Ministry in 2012, she continues to be involved in multiple activities. She is now head of the law reform committee at the National Council of Women Organisations and actively works on women’s rights issues in Malaysia, including holding a position as a trustee for the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO).

He is a distinguished historian who obtained his BA (Hons) from the University of Singapore, Masters from Brown University, USA and PhD from the University of London. During his 45 years in active service, he had played a major role in to the development of education in Malaysia and the region. Among others, he held various posts at the University of Singapore, significantly contributed to the development and growth of Universiti Sains Malaysia into one of the country’s premier academic institutions, assisted with the establishment of University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD), developed a variety of academic programmes, and assisted in the establishment of Wawasan Open University, subsequently holding a position as the Chief Executive Officer of the Wawasan Education Foundation.

Born into an influential family of doctors and politicians in 1950, Tan Sri Dr Yahya Awang is arguably the country’s most prominent cardiothoracic surgeon.
He is known for performing two coronary artery bypasses on Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in 1989 and 2007, and played an instrumental role in establishing the National Heart Institute (IJN) in 1992.
It was there that he achieved a major landmark in Malaysia’s healthcare when he successfully performed the country’s first heart transplant operation in 1998.

He was in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wisma Putra, for 33 years. He joined the Diplomatic Service in 1971, and is a graduate of the University of Lancaster, England. Among his foreign postings were: High Commissioner to Sri Lanka; High Commissioner to South Africa; and, Ambassador to Germany. He retired from the Foreign Service in 2003.

She served in Malaysia’s education service for 32 years (1961-1993) in various capacities: as a graduate teacher, lecturer in a training college, principal of a secondary school, and as Director of Curriculum. She retired in 1993 as Director General of Education, Ministry of Education. After her retirement, she joined Land & General Bhd as the Corporate Adviser (Education). She was with the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) from 2002 to 2010.

Tan Sri Dato' Seri Alwi Jantan:- After graduating from the University Malaya, Singapore, he joined the civil service. He was the Secretary General of three Ministries -Agriculture, Health and Local Government and Federal Territory; Deputy Secretary General Prime Minister's Department; State Secretary Selangor; and the first Director General of National Archives and Library which he helped establish. He also handled the establishment of the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan.
He retired as Director General of Public Service
After retirement he joined the Genting Group as Executive Director. He has also served as Chairman of HiapTech Bhd and OUA Development Bhd and Director of Guinness Anchor Bhd.

An activist of women’s affair, Faridah Khalid had a career in teaching, public relations, publishing and marketing, Faridah has volunteered with the National Council of Women’s Organisations since 1978.
She is an executive council member of Pink Triangle and a committee member of the Standard Chartered Paediatric AIDS fund in the Malaysian AIDS Council.
She has a Chinese nickname, Ah Siew during her growing up years living in a close knit Malay Chinese community in rural Perlis.

She is the President for Muslim Women’s Action Society (PERTIWI), with almost three decades of experience in the academic and human resource fields. She was the Assistant Secretary General for Human Resource Management at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, and as Vice Chancellor/President of University Malaya, the first woman to be appointed a university president in Malaysia. She also served as General Manager (HR) of Maybank, Assistant Governor of Malaysia’s Central Bank and as a lecturer and Dean of the Faculty of Law, University Malaya.

He served for almost 20 years in the Research Division of the Prime Ministers Department, under Tun Hussein Onn and Tun Dr. Mahathir. He was then appointed as head of the then newly created National Anti-Narcotics Task Force where he served for more than 6 years. He retired as Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Industry and Consumer Affairs in 2000. Since then he has been and still is active in the field of substance abuse. He is now a consultant and a master trainer with the International Centre for Certification and Education.

She retired from corporate life in 2003 and now spends her free time teaching at Putra Business School, Serdang and training for both public and private sector organizations on human resource development and cross cultural management. She is also involved in several NGO's focusing on intercultural matters, unity and religious understanding.

Born In Penang, read law at Lincoln's In London from 1957 to 1962. Was called to the Bar in London in December 1962. On return to Malaysia joined the Judicial Service & Legal Service with a first appointment as Magistrate Kuala Lumpur. Was in the Service as President Session Court, Senior Federal Counsel at the Attorney General Chambers, seconded to the the Anti Corruption Agency as Senior Prosecutor, State Legal Advise Perak, Head of the Criminal Division at the Attorney General Chambers. In 1983 elevated as the Judge High Court Kuantan Pahang, Judge High Court Kuala Lumpur Criminal Division, Commercial Division and finally in 1983 appointed Judge Court Of Appeal Malaysia until retirement in July 2001.

He was head of the United Nations Urban Governance Initiative for Asia/Pacific and President of Consumers
International. He is a recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, popularly known as the “Alternative Nobel
Prize", the Global 500 Award for the United Nations Environment Programme and the Gandhi – King -
Ikeda Community Builders Peace Award. He received Honorary Doctorate in Law and Philosophy from
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaya (UKM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) respectively.
